PCRA’s winter training program will take place in our new indoor  facility and will employ a combination of erging, spinning, strength training and core conditioning.  Our program is designed to optimize physical competence in each of nine recognized fitness domains. They are: cardiovascular, respiratory, endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, and balance. We will track each athlete’s progress over a series of scheduled 2k testing dates. Athletes who attend all practices and embrace our program will experience significant gains in 2k times, and spring water speed.

Season Dates: November 28th – March 4th.

The winter season will be held at our indoor training facility: CrossFit Westchester Pelham, 625 5th Avenue, Pelham. (Please enter CrossFit through the front door and go up the stairs.)

Indoor rowing competition schedule:

St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, hosted by PCRA at Pelham Middle School, all youth required to participate

C.R.A.S.H. -B’s, at Boston University’s Agganis Arena, Boston, Mass., optional for youth, (not included in fees).

The Development Team program is a two day a week program that is geared towards all Middle School athletes and High Schoolers who are new to rowing. The two day a week program will alternate between cardio on ergs and spin bikes, core conditioning, weight training, in addition to team building and having a lot of fun. This program is not competitive and allows our younger and new athletes to master the fundamentals of the stroke and build fitness before joining our competitive programs.

The goals of the program are to:

  • Introduce Rowing for newcomers
  • Increase strength
  • Increase cardio endurance
  • Increase flexibility
  • Stay injury free

The winter season will be held at our training facility: CrossFit Westchester Pelham, 625 5th Avenue, Pelham.
